Cultural and Student Management:

Managed by skilled and experienced staff, the Cultural Management Deputy Office of Shahr-e-Rey Islamic Azad University offers an all-encompassing set of facilities and inclusive centers tosupport a wide range of programs aimed at reinforcingthe spirit ofethnic and religious authenticity and raisingstudents' level of cultural assimilation and values.

  • Prayer Space:

Shahr-e-Rey Islamic Azad University's 30,000 sq.m prayer-room is an evocative work of combined Islamic and traditional architecture. The prayer-room is amongst the largest of its kind within the existing university settings, bestowing a warm and soul-raising atmosphere for practicing routine and periodical rituals as well as cultural and religious events such as collective prayers, Quran recitation sessions, weekly Ziyarat Ashura assembly, Arafeh Dua sitting, Sha'baniyeh Munajat supplication hearings, Islamic book shows, software exhibitions, Quran intimacy occasions, sermons, Adhan contests, and ceremonies commemorating Innocent Imams.

  • Quran and Household Center:

Situated within the university compound, Quran and Household Center enjoys a range of diverse facilities and resources, foremost:

  • Specialized library housing a broad collection of texts and literature addressing all topics of concern, including Quranic interpretations, Quranic sciences, and hadiths (e.g. Kitab al-Kafi, Kitab al-Tahzib, Safinat al-Bihar, Wasa'il al-Shi'a, Mostadrak al-Wasail, etc);
  • Rich range of Quranic software;
  • Noor al-Thaqalayn journal;
  • Newsletters and special publications open to readers' views, religious essays, literate blogs, and poetry. 
  • Quranic courses (memorizing and extracurricular topics);
  • Quranic and reading award contests (on intra-organizational, regional, and national levels);
  • Stimulating camps for staff and student members.

  • Scientific and Cultural Centers:

In line with the prospects and the assigned duties, the Cultural and Student Deputy Office has, within its lavish agenda of creative and cultural-religious programs, initiatives aimed at raising the spirit of group interaction amongst students on scientific, cultural, art, and literary grounds. The establishment of student-run centers and associations in consistence with university rules and provisions is one such instance where individuals of common purpose and interest are provided the chance to meet and share. Of the many groups formed subsequent to the approval of university's Cultural Council, mention can be made of Jor'eyeh Noor ("Sip of Light"), Mobaleghan-e Hijab ("Hijab Advocates"), Neshat ("Joy"), Shahrvand-e Masoul ("Responsible Citizen"), Andishehay-e Imam ("Imam Khomein's Ideology"), Helal Ahmar ("Red Crescent"), Rahpooyan-e Honar (Followers of Art), Raazeh Orouj ("Secret of Ascension"), Shahedan-e Isar ("Observers of Sacrifice"). In addition to leading associations, namely Shamim-e Mehr ("Fragrance of Kindness"), Safiran-e Salamat ("Ambassadors of Health"), and Sobh-e Omid ("Morn of  Hope") which operate under direct supervision of NahadRahbari and have earned a fair reputation for their outstanding contributions.

Establishment of student centers and associations is bound to certain rules and procedures and interested individuals may refer to the offices of Islamic Culture in their faculty of concern to obtain relevant information. 

  • Health Clinic:

"Health" is a state of physical, mental, and social well-being and not the state of being merely free from physical illness or injury and entails conditions associated to the educational, nutritional, and occupational circumstances of the individual, including and not restricted to having access to pure potable water, lacking addiction, and so forth. 

As a department seriously concerned for the health of students, teachers, and staff, the Culture and Student Deputy Office has sought permission from chancellor's office to adopt a health plan that aims at removing the barriers and risks confronting the well-being of the above-mentioned populations at large. The plan embraces the following key processes:

  • Organization of health-related educational meetings and conferences;
  • Screening widespread medical conditions like hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, etc. in students and staff;
  • Examining students and staff at the House of Health;
  • Drafting preventive plans to curb addiction, contagious diseases, etc.;
  • Providing the fertile ground for increased social presence of the young via the House of Health.

  • Counseling Services:

Counseling services are provided in 3 different categories:

  • Face to Face: Whereby students refer to the office to set appointments prior to receiving subsequent counselling;
  • Phone: Whereby students contact the Counseling Center to set appointments prior to receiving phone counselling;
  • Correspondence: Whereby students complete the appropriate form and submit it to the Counselling Center prior to receiving counselling (normally after 48 hours);
  • Online: Whereby students submit their request by email to moshavereh@iausr.ac.irand wait for an online response.

  • Faculty-Based Social and Cultural Offices:

To facilitate easy access to cultural and social activities planned and conducted by university's Cultural and Student Deputy Office, the office has established representations in each and every faculty (Human Sciences, Management and Accounting, Technical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer, Architecture and Art, and Safaeiyeh College). Offices are staffed with adept and enthusiastic experts and their key tasks include:

  • Establishment of a cultural council comprising of faculty heads and accomplished teachers;
  • Organization of cultural, pilgrimage, and Iranology tours and camps for students and staff;
  • Organization of exalting cultural and social competitions and contests for students and staff;
  • Organization of scientific and cultural sittings and conferences with the aim of deepening the cultural, social, and religious knowledge and understanding of students;
  • Remaining responsive to the cultural and social demands of students;
  • Encouraging elite and active students to join scientific and cultural centers and associations;
  • Organization of educational and empowerment workshops for university's administrative personnel.

  • Faculty-Based social, cultural, and Religious Counselling Representative Offices:

The need for providing a timely and effective response to the social and cultural demands of students has prompted the Cultural and Student Deputy Office to establish social, cultural, and religious representative offices in several faculties, namely Human Sciences, Management and Accounting, Technical Engineering, and Architecture and Art. Offices are run by young prudent clergies. 

  • Student Affairs Management:

Student Affairs Management deals with conscription, welfare, and nutritional affairs of students.

  • Office of Conscription Affairs:  This office is responsible for assisting male admissions to fulfill the registration process at the shortest possible time and in conformity with the rules and regulations of General Duty Organization. All applications and recommendations for student exemption are communicated with the said organization via the Office of Conscription Affairs. Students failing to conclude their studies within the time frame determined by General Duty Organization are referred to the special commission, and if deemed eligible, will be re-recommended by the office for reconsideration and extension of their exemption period. The office also works closely with General Duty Organization to obtain the permits required for authorizing oversea travelling of students subject to conscription.
  • Office of Student Welfare: The main tasks of this office is to monitor and follow up on contracts made with outside providers of goods and services (e.g. buffet, publication, etc.), supervise over student transportation services, follow up and monitor on temporary contracts made with contractors, and follow up on complaints made by students against contracted services (e.g. transport, etc.).
  • Office of Student Affairs:This office is assigned with the task of issuing certification letters for students to submit to various bodies on demand, issuing student cards for new admissions upon registration and duplicate copies of missing cards, registering monthly food program of students and staff, considering discounts on semester fees based on circulated provisions, examining transfer applications registered in monada.ir website based on circulated criteria, recommending eligible applicants to different sections on demand, reporting students' monthly paid-activity to Deputy of Administration and financial Affairs, and convening Disciplinary Committee meetings on regular basis to decide on academic and ethical misconducts.
  • Self-Service Office: The overall duty of this office is to offer daily meals to students and staff and manage the food-servicing process for special events and occasions.
